Anonymous asked: What inspires your blog

Honestly on the internet I catch so much discrimination towards Black females, “we’re always either not pretty enough or ratchet, we don’t fit the requirements for being beautiful”. My blog is here to put an end to the rude comments, stereotypes and ignorance. I want black girls to feel beautiful in the skin they’re in.  Black Is Beautiful, just like everyone else.

**Lovable Monsters**: The Ultimate Natural Curly Hair Deep Conditioning Repairing Recipe

luvablemonsterrr:

So i’ve been doing a lot of reading and research into natural curly hair and how to tame it. I’ve been natural for about 3 years and its been a time of trail and error, experimenting, and spending way too much time and money on my hair. I have finally come up with a deep treatment that works amazing! I put together this strange concoction and put it on my hair and It  turned out beautiful! So i decided i might as well share it because thats the curly girl way of life, sharing tips with your fellow curly sisters.

***Note: this is not for all hair types! Those with straight fine hair (“white” people hair texture) do not use! Only for curly kinky textured hair.)***

Ingredients:

-Olive oil (Major moisturizer)

- Honey (natural humectant and brings out natural shine)

-Yogurt (restores moisture and strengthens hair)

-Egg (yeah its gross but amazing for your hair. Its the best protein treatment. It strengthens hair follicles, prevents hair loss and breakage,  contains B12 vitamin for hair growth, and fatty acids that give hair natural shine)

-Rosemary oil (Promotes hair growth by stimulating hair follicles)

-Mayonaise (Yes i know it sounds absolutely awful, but i swear to you this is a miracle for your hair! The oil in it provides lots of moisture and the egg in it strengthens with protein. Its almost like it was more meant for hair and for your sandwich!)

-Banana (has lots of biotin which is great for hair growth and health)

-Avocado (High in vitamin A and antioxidants, great for repairing damaged hair)

Mix these all together! I would use a blender because its extremely difficult to get chunks of banana out of curly kinky hair. Trust me.

If any ingredients were cold i would suggest warming it up a little bit in the microwave or stove. Just till its not horribly cold, because put cold mayo on your head will most likely traumatize you (what my mother used to do *shivers* gross.)

Once its all mixed section your hair off, start with the back and work forward globbing on this concoction. Put a lot of it on dont be shy! Dont mind the smell, beauty is more important than a little discomfort.

Once Its all covering your head put a shower cap/processing cap on. If you have it use a bonnet dryer or a hooded dryer to add heat. This will open up your hair’s cuticle allowing a deeper penetration (thats what she said). If not its all good.

Leave it in for about an hour, then get in the shower and wash it out. Shampoo with gentle sulfate free product, or use a conditioning shampoo. You may have to do this a few times to get it all out. Use a wide tooth comb if you have to. After your hair is rid of the concoction work conditioner through your hair and rinse. This will loosen your hair and soften it to get any left over scraps. Do this a couple times as needed.

Once your hair is clean, slap on a deep conditioner or some regular conditioner (maybe stick some coconut oil in it to boost moisture) and leave that on for at least an hour. I usually like to leave it on through the night.

Once your done rinse it out and reveal your beautiful shiny more healthy head of hair! Take care of your mane! Continue to deep condition weekly and use this treatment monthly to maintain hair health and growth. Good luck curly girls! xo
